To strengthen the management of visiting personnel and ensure the successful completion of open‑project research, the Key Laboratory of Applied Surface and Colloid Chemistry, Ministry of Education, hereby formulates the following regulations for visiting researchers working at the laboratory:

1. Upon approval of an open‑project application, the applicant becomes a visiting researcher of the laboratory. During the project execution period, the visiting researcher must work at the laboratory for a certain period of time.

2. Visiting researchers shall report to the laboratory office upon arrival and complete the necessary check‑in procedures.

3. During their stay at the laboratory, visiting researchers shall coordinate all project‑related matters with their designated project collaborator (co‑investigator).

4. Visiting researchers shall strictly abide by all laboratory rules and regulations and take good care of public equipment.

5. Visiting researchers are encouraged to actively participate in the laboratory’s academic activities. They may also organize special seminars to discuss their own research topics.

6. When publishing papers resulting from work conducted at the laboratory, visiting researchers shall list both institutions (their home institution and the laboratory) side by side after the author names, rather than merely acknowledging the laboratory as a funding source.

7. If the project involves confidentiality or intellectual property issues, visiting researchers shall sign a separate agreement with their project collaborator, and all matters shall be handled in accordance with the terms of that agreement.

8. During their stay at the laboratory, visiting researchers shall not engage in activities unrelated to the collaborative research project, nor shall they dispose of or transfer collaborative research results without authorization.

9. If visiting researchers need to travel on business or temporarily leave the laboratory during their stay, they must obtain consent from their project collaborator in advance.

10. Accommodation for visiting researchers shall be arranged as follows: a modest allowance will be provided when the number of visitors is small; when the number is large, collective accommodation will be arranged.

11. Visiting researchers are not permitted to cook or prepare meals in the offices or laboratory areas.

12. Upon completion of their work, visiting researchers shall promptly return all borrowed items and equipment.
