Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China officially announced the project funding results for the 2026 centralized application acceptance period. KLASCC was approved for a total of 17 National Natural Science Foundation projects, including 14 General Projects and 3 Youth Science Foundation projects (Category C), with a total funding of 7.90 million yuan.

The number of approved projects in 2026 increased by 9 compared with that in 2025, with a growth rate of 112.5%. The project structure changed from taking key-type projects as a breakthrough in 2025 to taking General Projects and Youth Foundation projects as the cornerstone in 2026, forming a pattern of using points to drive the whole area. Among them, General Projects increased from 6 to 14 (a growth of 133%), and the coverage of basic research was greatly broadened; the Youth Foundation approved 3 projects, and the youth echelon grew steadily, reserving fresh strength for subsequent high-level projects.
