Grounded in the craftsman spirit of "pursuing excellence in the ordinary," the KLASCC advocates a research philosophy that balances individual interest with goal orientation, and that harmonizes free exploration with organized, mission-driven research. We adhere to the principles of scrutinizing details through the rigorous lens of chemistry, anchoring our work on material innovation, and pursuing interdisciplinary integration as a pathway to address major societal needs through impactful research. The Laboratory champions the spirit of "perseverance and resilience"—remaining unyielding in the face of difficult problems, and forging tenacity and willpower through challenges and setbacks. At the same time, we uphold the value orientation of "practical application"—ensuring that scientific research is rooted in real-world needs and that knowledge is translated into practical forces that drive social progress. Through institutional innovation and the nurturing of a robust research ecosystem, we aim to achieve synergistic development between talent cultivation and frontier research output, continuously shaping a research culture defined by "perseverance and practical application."

Building upon this research culture, the KLASCC hereby establishes the "Boyong Talent Support Program" (where Boyong embodies the dual spirit of perseverance and application). This program is designed to transform our cultural values into institutional practice. Through longterm, stable support and an evaluation system oriented toward tangible contributions, the program encourages researchers to undertake original, leading-edge, and highly applicable research that addresses national strategic needs. It also aims to break down disciplinary barriers, bring together interdisciplinary innovative talents, and foster deep integration of cross-cutting approaches with organized research. This will create a virtuous cycle in which "talents empower the Laboratory, and the Laboratory nurtures talents," accelerate the translation of research outcomes from the bench to industry and society, and contribute to highlevel scientific and technological self-reliance and strength.

The Boyong Talent Support Program consists of two categories:

Category A is primarily targeted at mid-career research leaders who have already produced systematic and representative achievements in their fields. Through stable funding and resource support, it aims to help them overcome key research bottlenecks, deepen their scholarly inquiry, and achieve a leap in academic influence and innovative capacity.

Category B is designed for early-career researchers with strong innovative potential and promising development prospects. It provides an accelerated growth pathway to help them rapidly mature into principal investigators with independent academic judgment, rigorous and pragmatic research ethics, and a resilient, innovative spirit.
